The rooms were really nice. The beds were very comfortable beds. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They really tried to help accommodate any need we had. The gym was also well equipped and had a pool that my daughter had a blast in. Would definitely recommend.

I have been an Ambassador/platinum elite since 2000. I think that I've stayed in every IHG in Europe and others around the world. At this point, I know many of the 'General Managers' in Europe as I travel to France 6 times a year. any years. Somehow I had never been in Boston long enough when could spend some time in the city and stay at the 'Intercontinental Boston'. They also have a 'Dog Policy' and when I travel on the East Coast, my Golden goes where I go :). From driving up to the valet and my welcome at reception, with acknowledgment of my loyalty, I was alreadty impressed. I might say that the lobby and reception area have been sleeky modernized and work was continuing. This was not a hindrance at all. Janica (I hope I spelled that right) was a great ambassador for the hotel when you met her at reception. She upgraded me to a beautiful room as I was using points and the whole staff made themselves available at all times—a good mix of being warm yet professional. The room was laid out just as you would expect in a luxury hotel. There were extras throughout the room and the size was larger than average but still warm. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast and look forward to when the renovation work is done to enjoy the buffet in the main room and the main restaurant that has the reputation of being excellent. A new IHG that was tops for what I call' The Intercontinental Experience'. I've been writing reviews of my stays at IHG for many years. I am glad I could add another for an exemplary hotel.

From the moment we arrived the experience was excellent We were greeted warmly at the front desk. Although our room was not yet available (we were very early) we were invited to enjoy the club lounge. Our room was ready soon after we had our coffee. Amazing! We were escorted to our room, the Ambassador Suite, the double entry doors let us know we had arrived, which was a total immersion of luxury. The service from the valet, bell service, front desk and especially Krish and Caterina in the International lounge and Joe at the concierge desk all contributed to making this stay and my wife’s 70 birthday celebration in Boston a truly memorable occasion. Krish provided unparalleled service. He anticipated our needs and was accommodating and helpful. He was an integral part of the excellent rating the hotel received. Caterina in the lounge was also super efficient and helpful. The Intercontinental Boston is our new go-to destination. Thank you to all the staff! Can't wait to go back in June (already booked!!)

The best hotel I have stayed in anywhere in America. Polite, helpful, friendly staff have made it a fabulous experience. The hotel has so many amenities from the gym & pool to breakfast, all which are outstanding. Little touches like the complimentary coffee in a morning to chocolates & water at night stands it out from other hotels. They have a real star in Aine on Reception who is always smiling, has a great demeanour about her, very professional but also really engaging & nothing is too much trouble for her. I hope the hotel appreciates what excellent potential she has & been a real plus for us & made our stay the best ever which it wouldn’t imagine it would have been without her involvement.

Comfortable Stay but Not the Best

Stayed here for three nights using an IHG Rewards Suite Upgrade voucher to secure a Junior Suite overlooking the harbour. This was lovely large room with a quirky shuttered window behind the bed headboard opening into the bathroom. Not sure why, but although there was instant hot water to the bath and sink, it took a few minutes for any hot water to reach the standalone shower. With my Diamond Elite membership I qualified for a free breakfast. This was fortunate as their buffet breakfast - served from what I’m assuming/hoping is a temporary location due to some building works - is absolutely not worth the $50 per person charge. Certainly far below what you’d expect from a hotel of this standard. And the organic breakfast tea was the weakess-looking and most tasteless tea I’ve ever drunk. And a few weeks after my stay, I’m still waiting for an answer to a question about my account. I also had to ask twice for one request to be fulfilled. Again, not the sort of service you’d expect from an Intercontinental.
